Howdy, I have been making NA style flutes since I learned tha basics as a youngster living in tha Appalachin Mt's of Ky and Wv. In this area we had a strong Native American influence and most of the people frum this area were poor aND had little money for things like store bought toys and such. The things we played with were tha ones that were passed down thru tha years. One of my favorite's was tha homemade flutes made frum tha PawPaw tree's and Alderwood branches. Nothing to this day gives me more pleasure than the sound one can get frum this instrument made frum just a little scrap of wood. The Native American style flute has a melody like no other. And each flute has its own song that is an intertwining of the tree, the craftsman, and the player. The making and playing of these flutes has been such a gift to me that I would like to, as best as I can, share them with those that are interested. I make my flutes to the Native American Style Tradition. They are end-blown fipple style tuned to a natural Penatonic scale. I simply listen to tha wood and let it tell me what song it wants to sing. This is my way.
